May 15th -- 0 new murders but cops continue hunt for missing husband....
The police continue to search for the husband of Leonida Davila, a 39-year-old Latina female, who was found dead with her throat cut inside an SUV belonging to her husband that was parked in the Essex Street Garage on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, according to stories in the Daily News and NY Times.
Davila's handcuffed body was discovered Tuesday night wrapped in a blanket and sitting on the front passenger seat. William Davila, Leonida's estranged husband (photo left), is being sought for questioning. The couple, who had a child together, has a history of domestic violence. Police are asking anyone with information on Davila's whereabouts to call 1-800-577-tips.

Meanwhile, a novel written by one of two auxiliary cops gunned down in the line of duty in March 2007 has just been published. "The Wolfman" -- about a crime-fighting wereworlf -- was penned by Nicholas Pekearo who, along with another auxiliary cop who was also murdered, died trying to protect citizens from a murderous gunman.
The book has been called , who calls the book a “brilliant, insightful, and overpowering," by novelist Andrew Vachss.
