Norman Brown, a 26-year-old father-to-be, was beaten to death Thursday night in front of the Lucky 7 bar in the Morrisania section of the Bronx, according to a report in the Daily News. A bloody and heavy metal trash can -- weighing 34 pounds -- was found next to him and police believe it was the murder weapon.
Brown's 90-year-old adoptive mother, who took him in when he was only 3 weeks old, said he'd always been a doting son who looked out for her. Margaret Brown told The News: "I don't know why they hurt my son like that; I don't know. He was a kindhearted child."
